An international business and human resources leader, Joost is an expert leadership advisor who understands how to navigate complex boardroom dynamics. Having served as a CEO and CHRO in a range of consumer and industrials businesses, in addition to spending five years as a Partner at a leading, global search firm, Joost has a unique perspective from both sides of the table on how to coach, guide and support senior leaders in driving transformation and building winning teams.
After an initial career at audit in Price Waterhouse, Joost joined Unilever where he spent ten years at Unilever in global and regional Human Resources roles across Europe. He then joined the global food and biochemicals business CSM as CHRO, before going on to lead the European Retail and Out-of-Home business unit for frozen bakery products. Joost then joined de Lotto, the lottery of the Dutch Olympic Committee, where he served as CEO for two years preparing the organisation for the merger with Staatsloterij. Joost then returned to HR when he joined TNT-Express as Chief People Officer and a member of the Management Board. After the successful acquisition by FedEx, he then joined global search firm Spencer Stuart, where he spent five years as a Partner in their Global Industrials Practice based out of the Netherlands.
In 2022 Joost founded Sphere Advisory, since then he worked, amongst others, for Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Brenntag, Trill Impact and their portfolio company Primutec Solutions Group and Make-A-Wish International.
Joost is a Dutch national and global citizen, currently living in The Hague (Netherlands) and furthermore lived and worked in Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. He is certified Hogan Assessor and trained Mediator.
